Entrance Requirements for the Nursing Attendant / Health Care Aide program

Potential students must :

  • Be at least eighteen years of age.

  • Have a minimum Canadian Grade 10 English and Math or equivalent.

  • Provide a clear criminal security clearance.

  • Possess good back health. (Able to lift at least 35 Kg)

  • Provide a current immunization record.

  • Produce a clear medical record.

  • Complete a written communication assessment demonstrating the ability to write in English using appropriate grammar, punctuation and spelling, at a level appropriate for Nursing Attendants / Health Care Aides, typically at least a grade ten English.

  • Demonstrate a strong desire to provide hands-on, basic patient care as a Nursing Attendant / Health Care Aide.
